AIRPLANE TRANSFER INFORMATION - MALE’ TO GAN TO MALE’
Island Aviation Services “IAS” and Trans Maldivian Airways “TMA” provide airplane transfers from the Domestic Terminal, Hulhule International Airport to Gan Airport, to coincide with the arrival/departure schedule of international flights. The “fixed wheel” (not seaplane) aircraft transfer time to Gan Airport is about 70 minutes.
Guests arriving in the Maldives aboard international flights, after clearing Immigration and Customs formalities, walk 100 yards (only 3 minutes) with their luggage (push carts available at no charge), from the International Arrival Terminal to the Domestic Terminal. Guests check-in at the airline check-in counter and wait no longer than about 1 hour in the Departure Lounge before their flight departs for Gan.
In rare instances, such as if an international flight arrival is delayed or a baggage claim form must be completed, then the maximum time to wait might be no longer than 2 hours.
Seat requests must be received no later than 8 days prior to date of arrival for passengers arriving by any international flight. If the request is not received within these deadlines then the passenger will be waitlisted until such time as the Airline provides confirmation.
Airplane transfers are provided day and night, between about 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m.
The Tour Operator’s local ground handling agent will have a representative at the airports.
In rare instances, due to circumstances outside the control of IAS or TMA and/or Herathera, such as unfavorable weather conditions, the aircraft departure may be delayed in which case, neither IAS, TMA nor Herathera assume any liability for any related expenses of the guests.
Baggage Allowance:
Cabin Baggage: A passenger is allowed a maximum of 7 kg carry-on baggage at no additional charge.
Checked Baggage: A passenger is allowed a maximum of 20 kg checked baggage at no additional charge.
Excess Baggage: A passenger is allowed a maximum of 12 kg excess checked baggage
(for a total of 32 kg) at an additional charge of $1.10 per excess kg.
Flight departure regulations require guests departing on domestic flights to check-in at the airline ticket counter no later than 1 hour before flight departure time, and for international flights, no later than 2 hours before flight departure time.

SPEEDBOAT TRANSFER INFORMATION
Herathera schedules speedboat transfers to/from Gan International Airport to coincide with the arrival/departure of both domestic and international flights. Transfer time is about 20 minutes.
Typically, upon arrival in Gan, after exiting the baggage claim area, a guest would wait no longer than about 15 minutes at the Airport before a scheduled speedboat transfer would depart for Herathera. In rare instances, such as if a baggage claim form must be completed, then the wait may be 30 minutes.
